On Tuesday, July 24, President Rodrigo Duterte said he would carry on war with the communist rebels if they wish for it as he voiced out his anger at them again.
President Duterte even mocked the Founder of the Communist Party, Jose Maria Sison over his health status, pushing him to go take his own life after Jose Maria Sison accused him of no telling the truth about his medical status.
On Monday, the day Duterte delivered his second State of the Nation Address (SONA), He informed the people that Sison has been diagnosed with cancer in the colon, but it was immediately denied by Sison and said that the allegations of Duterte was a personal strike.
The President became furious with the New People’s Army, the armed wing of the CPP, for conducting an attack to the government troops and his security details after the claim that they wish to have peace talks. He then said that he is no longer interested to negotiate with the CPP, the one represented in the discussions by its political arm, the National Democratic Front of the Philippines.
“You do not want to talk, You want war. I will give it to you. I will prepare my armed forces” Duterte said.
He also aimed for Sison again, after declaring that the latter is suffering from cancer and that Norway, the third body who facilitate the peace talks, has been handling Sison’s medical finances.
He even told Sison to have pity on the government of Norway and to just kill himself. He even called Sison Son of a bitch.
Duterte also happened to recall how he once invited the officers of the Communist Party and toured them around the Malacañang Palace, and they all shared a meal. To the laughter of the crowd, he jokingly asked on why they weren’t poisoned.
Following the attacks by the Rebels on government forces, peace talks between the NDFP and the Philippine Government stopped once again.
