The Philippine National Police has released the mugshots of police personnel from Eastern Visayas region who were allegedly involved in the killing of Albuera mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. and another inmate on November 5, 2016 at the Leyte Sub-provincial Jail.
Each of the 19 policemen led by Police Supt. Marvin Marcos, chief of Region Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Region 8 will be facing two counts of murder after Judge Carlos O. Arguelles of Regional Trial Court Branch 14 issued the arrest warrants on March 16.
They voluntarily surrendered on Monday.

Earlier, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said that the killing of Espinosa was a “rubout.”
Despite the NBI’s findings, Pres. Rodrigo Duterte also said that he “will not allow these guys to go to prison.”
Kerwin, Espinosa’s son, testified in the Senate that Marcos and his men were receiving payoffs from his drug trade in Eastern Visayas.
During the Senate hearing, Marcos and his men denied the allegations.
