President Rodrigo Duterte is set to sign the executive order(EO) which enforces nationwide smoking ban today, as announced by the President during the Cabinet meeting .
However, President Duterte earlier asked Health Secretary Paulyn Ubial to draft the executive order on nationwide smoking ban.
Moreover, the Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella stated that Ubial already made the revisions and the revised Executive Order was submitted at the office of the President around 8:15 a.m. today.
Thus, the revised Executive Order will be signed as soon as the President arrives in the office.
Duterte has been implementing a total smoking ban in the public places . This executive order covers “smoke-free public and enclosed places.
